346531 2005-04-19 00:03:00 Moving to the Whangapararoa Peninsula shortly, have heard bad stories of broadband access there, does anyone here live there and how are your experiences? snoopy (74)
346532 2005-04-19 10:38:00 You might be one of the lucky few in NZ with real broadband choice snoopy, look here and click on 'Orewa': www.wiredcountry.co.nz Eend (7932)
346533 2005-04-19 11:40:00 I have good speed, nothing wrong. Apparantly there is a telephone exchange or something around here, and it is meant to be good for your internet.

You can tell I don't know what im talking about :-), but no, i dont have any problems

Oh, and a future welcome to Whangaparaoa. Do you know what area you are going to?

346535 2005-04-20 12:24:00 I live in orewa and had a problem getting broadband originally . Apparently the "box" in our street which the phone lines go through was the old copper or sumthin like dat, neway only 3 houses on our street culd get broadband, too and fro with telecom who eventually say they'll switch us onto anutha line .

The availibility of broadband is actually fairly poor out here, and u may find that you cant get it but yoru neighbour can .

Good luck with the move and hope you enjoy it here .

346537 2005-04-20 12:31:00 sorry...on my experience...i'm on UBS with orcon 256k plan...speeds are fine for general surfing and downloading from websites around 30-34kb/s, however recently I have been having poor download speeds with P2P programs. people uploading off me are fine. fatty (6649)
