346137 2005-04-17 20:50:00 Morning peoples :D
This morning I went to start my trusty comp... when it delivered the above nasty blue screen with the following message:
Stop:0*000000ED (0*82391A68, 0*C0000185, 0*00000000, 0*00000000)

So when I went to reboot, the computer went straight to the bootup option screen (safe mode, safe mode with prompt etc).
I entered Last known good config... and computer booted up to Windows fine.
Went and Googled the Unmountable_boot.. error then had a look at a few websites. Microsofts KB said if the second 0*C00.. address had a particular address, then it was file damage issue (which its not because the address was different)
There are hardware issues in that KB which are easy to fix if needed.

My question is: is this something I need to worry about (since my computer booted up fine the next time)? Have any of you had experience with this message?

By the way... O/S is Win XP Pro SP2 (and no.. its not a new install)

346138 2005-04-17 21:02:00 You did run a scandisk? It will sort any issues with the HDD. I wouldn't worry about unless it starts happening a lot. Then if your HDD is old, I'd start to worry. pctek (84)
346139 2005-04-17 21:43:00 Yeah I ran chkdsk.. it found no probs (or fixed them if there were probs)

As a side note.. this is first blue screen in months :D... all rather exciting really

346140 2005-04-17 22:12:00 Might be a good move if you start backing up your important datas.

Cheers :)

346142 2005-04-17 22:21:00 Are u using an 80 pin IDE cable?? (One with a blue connection on the mobo end). Looks like having the wrong IDE cable can cause this stop error. Speedy Gonzales (78)
346143 2005-04-18 06:44:00 I saw that on the MS KB site. I haven't checked yet... until I can kill my static problem, I'm not opening the case (can't afford to keep buying RAM)

For the time being I will keep going (it may just be a one off thing) and see if it happens again... If it does I will definately have to do something.

But Thanx for that Speedy :)
