347149 2005-04-21 02:20:00 I just bought a 256mb VDATA PC133 memory module for my computer so I can upgrade to Windows XP but when I inserted them my computer only reads it as being 128mb. The module is single sided and has 8 chips. The motherboard is a Jetway 911AF REV 1.11. I have the latest BIOS and am running Windows ME at the moment. Can someone please help!!!!! bluepoles (7281)
347150 2005-04-21 02:32:00 obviously you need to get a 256meg double sided ram stick.

BTW the odds are the pc will max out at 512 meg ram.

edit: ned to get 16chips ram, ie not 8 chips double sided.

347152 2005-04-21 21:43:00 The motherboard with the memory problem is the Jetway one which is actually in my Grandparents computer, mine is the Soltek. Yeah the motherboard does max out at 512mb but I was going to have the 64mb (what was in there already) and the 256mb modules. Also I have looked for Double Sided modules and they are a lot more expensive than Single Sided does anyone know where to get them cheap. bluepoles (7281)
347153 2005-04-21 21:46:00 i have a spare DSE(dicksmiths) pc 133 256mb double sided module and would consider swapping........ drcspy (146)
347154 2005-04-21 21:52:00 That would be good but I don't think my Grandpops would agree, I'll ask him.... bluepoles (7281)
