Lesson: Not all browsers are secure and even Opera had 35 vulnerabilities.

Something to consider.

Actually, Opera had 35 fixed vulnerabilites.

You also have to read about the individual vulnerabilites to see how serious they are and to decide whether they apply to you. Boooooorrrrriiiiiinnnnggg.

346994 2005-04-20 05:08:00 Have you got the URL to the origional data, as Vinref has a valid point there.... Chilling_Silence (9)
346995 2005-04-20 05:36:00 Secunia (http://www.secunia.com) is the easiest security site to read. But it is still mind-numbingly boring. vinref (6194)
346996 2005-04-20 05:52:00 And, how the maker responds to the vulnerability (www.greymagic.com). Remembering of course, when you talk of browser holes, for instance, they are not always merely browser holes but holes in the OS or other software.

Re the above linked advisory, take note of the discovery date.

346999 2005-04-20 06:01:00 Ah, but what is the level of vulnerability?

There's a difference between a vulnerability that redirects people to different sites, and a vulnerability that gives people full remote root/administrator access to a PC

I think Metla said it better than me.

Lesson: No browsers is secure, Software by default can be hacked. Its only code.....

My real point is that any browser is insecure at some time and people should be aware of that. Therefore, they need a host of other programs, ad-aware, spybot, anti-virus, OS hardening, etc, etc. to ensure their security.
