| 346709 | 2005-04-19 15:00:00 | Howdy :) I have both windvd and power dvd installed on my computer which is running winxp sp2 (home). When I insert a dvd movie into the dvd drive the window pops up with the option to either 'play using WMP', 'open folder to view file', or 'take no action'. I can not however, find a way to include play using power dvd or win dvd as one of the options. If I go to "my computer" and right click on the dvd drive there is an option to play using power dvd (but not windvd) available, but I can't make it so when ever a disc is inserted it automatically plays with powerdvd. Any ideas how one might fix this? Cheers Ravage |

| 346710 | 2005-04-19 20:02:00 | Right click on file choose "open with", "choose program", "select program from list" find program you wish to be default by browsing or selecting within the list, also put a tick in the option "always use the selected program to open this type of file" click on "ok" hopefully that should do it. | beama (111) | ||
| 346711 | 2005-04-19 22:04:00 | You want to right-click on the DVD Drive in My Computer and choose Properties. I havent done it in a while and dont run XP, but one of the tabs will be for auto-run settings. Select "DVD Movie" from the upper drop-down list and then choose the application you want it to use. Sadly, associating VOB files doesnt work. Chill. |

I had already tried both of those suggestions before posting :( When right clicking the dvd drive with a disc in there is no "open with ..." option available just the usual like play, autoplay, open with powerdvd, etc. When right clicking the dvd drive without a disc and selecting properties -->autoplay --> dvd movie only the options outlined in the original post (play with WMP, open folders and take no action) are available and I can see no way of adding other options.
