| 347859 | 2005-04-23 06:58:00 | I am running Windows 2000 professional on an IBM Thinkpad . I have my machine set up to turn off the screen and the hard disk after a set periond of time . System standby is after 3 hours and System Hibernate after 5 hours . Though I am on 56k dial up, I tend to leave my machine connected to the net but with my browser turned off (Mozilla) . I have noticed over the last week or so that my machine is still churning away in the morning when I get to it . It has not gone into standby or hibernated . When I look at the processes wiht Ctnrl/Alt/Delete I see tha the System Idle Process is churning away . It currently showns over 85 hours of time . What the hell is going on? :badpc: |

HAve you got any spyware checkers installed - that would be the first place I'd start . |
