| 347633 | 2005-04-22 12:23:00 | have just installed a Belkin F5D7630-4A wireless adsl router all is working fine except the site i use most often - trademe - site will load and i will be able to use it and then at various amounts of time it will stop working coming up with error 404 cant find page. all other sites i access seem to work fine. then have to reboot to be able to access site again. i have tried numerous settings such as adjusting the MTU and idle time out. have turned of the firewall on router and shut down zonealarm. Am using XP and ISP is Maxnet i am on 2mbps plan. Have been searching the net all day hoping to find a solution and my ISP has no real advice. This is the second one of these routers i have had this week same problem, technician at shop took first one home and said he had no problems at all with it, in fact he kept the first one and is now using it. am using the network cable on my pc and no other computers using it. Am also keeping it cooled as i have read there is a overheating issue with this model. any advice greatly appreciated. | mronhb (1100) | ||

| 347635 | 2006-02-17 06:07:00 | I was thinking that this could be a DNS or somewhat similar issue, but 404 is far more likely to be a web server issue. and it it is clearly meaning that it is able to a) Get to the site b) Get information back c) But, if it is 404 that is meaning that it is generated from the webserver. First of all, what is the page you are trying to access? Is is only one link, on trademe? How long does it take for the page to fail? I am not sure that it would be the ISP specific, but not ruling it out (Could at a pinch be an ISP proxy issue?). |
