347379 2005-04-21 21:06:00 Good Morning. I have a friend from England who reformatted his HDD recently. He can't find the drivers needed by his Creative 2.0 SBS250 speaker system. I've tried searching for one at www.creative.com but it is not available there. Currently, he is using XP SP2. Could someone pinpoint to me the URL where he can download one? Cheers :) Renmoo (66)

Cheers :)

347382 2005-04-22 08:32:00 whats under the other devices menu? that screenshot was of no use really. firstly you will need to know the sound card, use everest (www.lavalys.com) to find out what it is, from there we can hunt down the drivers....

wait a sec.... why does he need drivers for speakers? does he not have sound?

He updated me that he doesn't know the sound card model and yes, he is not getting any sound now. As I mentioned, he reformmated his HDD, so that wipes out everything. I asked him to open up his computer case, but he says that he doesn't know which is the sound card. I am now trying to help him to identify his sound card.

Cheers :)

347384 2005-04-22 10:32:00 He needs a sound card driver - speakers don't have drivers. Get him to run that Everest then. pctek (84)
347385 2005-04-22 11:45:00 Looks like to me he is useing onboard sound. He needs the legacy drivers which should be on his mother board CD Rom. My mother board has on board Legacy sound but it is disabled to allow my SB card to work. I have just looked at my device manager and it is the same as your friends with the exception of my SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card also showing up there.

347386 2005-04-22 20:47:00 This is the print screen of his sound card driver (www.sal.neoburn.net). I hope it's the right one. Cheers :) Renmoo (66)
347387 2005-04-22 22:05:00 Thats onboard. Should be on th MB CD as already stated - or download it from the MB manufacturers website. pctek (84)
347388 2005-04-23 07:49:00 Isn't it ATi SB200? Why makes you think it is an integrated sound card? Renmoo (66)
