my router works fine, I am connected to internet, all looks good, the only issue is why the 404.

when i point my browser to 192.168.17.1 (the dlink 504 router) it asks for username and password as expected so i put in "admin" and ******* just like i did the other day.

insted of getting a happy admin page i get a 404.

any thought?
power off reset?

347369 2005-04-21 21:40:00 Have you done a restart of the router? This would be first try. Do you use a local proxy as I find with my Linksys router sometimes doesn't respond when accessed from the proxy. I just bypass the proxy when that happens, not that it happens often. Also could be a firewall issue. berryb (99)

have not done any kind or reset or re-boot on the router yet, not a config issue as nothing has changed since it did work a few days ago.

not at home right noe so cant do re-boot of router, will try that late tonight.

kind of whated to keep it broken untill i find out why it broke, EG testing how broken ETC.

from what i can see the internal webserver is doing the 404 thing which means that the web interface has died but not the NAT/ADSL side,.

Did you change the IP? By default it should be 192.168.1.1.
That first message about the URL looks like a spyware problem to me.

I have changed the IP from default. my home network is 192.168.17.X

after re-boot it all good, it just the question of why the crash to start with.
