I can't get ADSL, because I'm 5 . 6km from the exchange and the technology is supposed to have a theoretical limit of 5km . Does anyone else around this area have ADSL or any other technology that they would recommend? I am absolutely desperate for broadband, I can't stand the 5hr waits for 10mb files . Also, I live on a property with a very long drive and I suspect that the closest Jetstream capable house would be 800-1000m away. As for wireless, BCL's Extend lists Massey and Whenuapai (I'm on the border of these suburbs) as a 'low connectivity' zone. Woosh 'don't currently provide a service in my area' according to their website. |

They will need to put in a access point and you will need a client access point if you have a lan in your house or a wireless card if you dont. | Rob99 (151) | ||

I live 5 . 5km from my exchange and I can get jetstream ok (256k) but there were also other considerations like quality of line . If it costs nothing to instal why not give it a try, nothing to lose if it fails and lots to gain if it works . |
