| 347338 | 2005-04-21 12:44:00 | I have this severe flickering of the screen problem when launching games. There is also a ghost image of all the objects and writing on the screen, and the ghost objects/writing is just as clear as the real ones which makes it difficult to distinguish for instance who is the actual player I'm controlling when trying to play FIFA 2005 for example. I experience the same image problem when playing CounterStrike 1.6. The only other game I have. My drivers are all up to date, and it the games all used to work perfectly until I re-installed my computer. But I installed the drivers from CD the same way as before, so I find it very strange why the games react this way now. And it's only games. Other software has no problems what so ever. Any help is appreciated. |

| 347342 | 2005-04-22 05:59:00 | Do the games try to change the display settings? That looks as if it's losing synchronisation, though ... how is the "ghost" stable? | Graham L (2) | ||
| 347343 | 2005-04-22 06:58:00 | I have a 17 inch LCD. The ghost image is stable. Just like the real image. The games don't try to change the display settings as far as I am aware of. It used to work fine on a 800x600 resolution. I'll have a look at those links. If I'm still stuck I'll get back to the forum. | Bazman (6587) | ||
| 347344 | 2005-04-22 07:33:00 | A 17" LCD native resolution is often 1280x1024. If your games run at 800x600 then this could be the problem if the games do not support the higher resolution. The severe flicking when the game first launches looks like it is trying to resize to a new resolution and not doing a good job of it. Strange that it worked fine prior to reinstalling the operating system. Have a look in your game graphic settings and see if you can select a higher resolution as default. | Jen (38) | ||
