Any one familiar with IBM Laptops? I have one (R40) which suddenly came up with a hard drive fault. I am not able to access the recovery partition as well. it is showing up on the Bios and Hitachi's DFT, but am not able to access the disk by any means. |

I have a G40 :blush: . Is it still under warranty; I presume not otherwise IBM would have been your first port of call. I would suggest you (or your local pc shop) remove the hard disk and see if your local pc shop could read it via an adapter for a normal IDE cable to make sure it really is the hard drive. |
