348103 2005-04-24 05:38:00 I had poroblems with my 6600 gt and getting a new PSU fixed it. The thermaltake one you linked to on ascent is the same one I bought. ad_267 (6193)
348104 2005-04-24 05:48:00 Yea, I think the thermaltake one is a good deal for me, just wondering though about the noise levels.. with your 6600GT and such is the PSU louder or quieter than a generic PSU? Agent_24 (57)
348105 2005-05-02 07:59:00 Sorry I didnt reply to your last post (I just got your email and replied to that then thought I would have a look here). I wasn't getting that error message but like someone mentioned it could have been a feature of the new drivers. The only problems I experienced were low frame rates and then short periods when framerates would drop really low, (around 3fps). And I haven't noticed any difference in volume between the PSUs. If anything the new one would probably be quieter. ad_267 (6193)
348106 2005-05-02 09:28:00 haha, dude I have the same 300W hyena PSU, E-one in manukau loves to supply them. I rang them up and said their psu's were sh*t and he insisted they were very good. I have had unstability issues in the past with my psu, especially in winter...odd....however I shall upgrade to thermaltake or something when i get my gf6600GT or non GT.....whatever the difference is jamesyboi (6579)
348107 2005-05-02 09:29:00 Forget the Thermaltake (pos). See if you can find an Enermax or Antec that doesn't have dual 12v rails.

Tagan 480W (www.ascent.co.nz) would actually be very good too, even better. They win Editors Choice award here (www.trustedreviews.com).

Or you could splash out on the best PSU you can buy (PC Power and Cooling) and get a 510 Deluxe (www.pcpowercooling.com) or something. The advantages (www.pcpowercooling.com) are clear.
