| 348869 | 2005-04-26 01:19:00 | Greetings all how difficult would it be to replace the signal cable (not the power cable) on a monitor (17inch PC Company), apparently the monitor went before the cable was removed (god only knows why), I have a feeling it was yanked out by someone who didn't know it wasn't supposed to come out (must have taken some force) was i have a few dead monitors around the place would i be able to just replace it with the signal cable from one of these? or alternately how much would a technician charge to repair it? |

SO it was ripped out the back of the monitor?? It could have dmagaed other components as well, its soldered in there. Best to have a TV/Video tech fix it, theres a lot of voltage in them apart from what other bits may be broken. Is it worth it though? CRTs are dirt cheap now cause everyones getting LCD. Probably cost more to fix than you could pick one up off Trademe. |
