1384648 2014-09-24 00:32:00 Go to the motherboard manufactures web site, locate the board download and install the chipset drivers.

99% of the time the error "SM Bus Controller" and the other faults means they are either corrupted or not installed.

Once you put those in the card reader should auto detect and install.

1384649 2014-09-24 00:39:00 The ACPI one. This maybe Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology. Get this off the mobo makers site or Intel site

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_1E311849&REV_04 is Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller, the one under USB

SMB will be chipset drivers

www.asrock.com

i look forward to the windows 9 beta

1384651 2014-09-24 00:49:00 We just said what SMB was/is chipset drivers. You usually install the chipset drivers after installing windows Speedy Gonzales (78)
1384652 2014-09-24 00:50:00 You'll prob need both INF Driver and intel Management Engine.

Had it happen countless times if you dont put in the Intel Management you'll still get unknown devices.

If you still get the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller unknown devices, install the USB drivers from there as well.

1384654 2014-09-24 05:29:00 installed inf and ME, SM bus is still not functioning in the device manager

its either free or pirated, they might as well get the valuable feedback that pirates are not currently giving them.

1384655 2014-09-24 06:00:00 free, microsoft
surely you jest
:) Actually its not in Jest. Theres a few rumors going around that MS may offer Windows 9 ( or Windows as it also may be called) Free to users who still have XP, Vista or W7 so they can upgrade to the newer OS. EXAMPLE (www.techradar.com)

Back on Topic, download all the drivers for the motherboard, ( make sure 100% its the right board) as well as run windows updates.

What is meant by the comment
its either free or pirated ? are you referring to the OS ?

1384656 2014-09-24 23:46:00 Interesting ...but

Chinese whispers.
The further in you follow the links to the original posts the less likely it all seems.
XP & vista never originally mentioned, that just got added to the rumour later
Other sites saying it MIGHT be free, or some version MIGHT be free, or available as a free update From Win8

More credible speculation is that it may be free(or very cheap) to those who buy Win8 PC's after or very near to Win9 release.
That would make sense. They did something similar with Win8

Heres where the rumour started. Anyone here speak russian ?
