1384120 2014-09-17 21:41:00 Our good friend CYaBro (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) recently gave me a free licence for one year of cover by Bitdefender (www.bitdefender.com). It seems great.

My question is... would this be a reasonable cover for a small office of 4 employees? The Small Business option is US$154.00 per year.

The price seems fair, but I'd hate to recommend a commercial product which I know little about. (And of course no way would I suggest Nortons!)

Their computers all run Windows 7.

1384121 2014-09-17 21:57:00 For commercial/pay, go with NOD32....the AV product (Endpoint) , not full internet security
Its reliable & doesnt seem to slow down PC's

If you but 5 liciences , you can get the Business version and a discount/cheaper rate.
You may also be able to get a crossgrade discount, if moving from another AV product

On saying that, Bitdefender is possibly just as good, and cheaper.

How the cross grade works ( from memory) is as long as you have a PAID AV they sell you either Nod32 or Smart Security at a renewal price, not a new price.

If you must go with Bitdefender, I don't know what the difference is between Bitdefender Total Security & Bitdefender Total Security 2015, ( if any difference) but some places like www.windowsdeal.com has it for a 85% Discount. It has a 3 user, not to sure if you would change the cart to 2, giving 6 users @$US29.00

The change over For Eset from home user licencing to business Licencing is 5 user, (if you have 4 its home, 5+ Business).

Comparing NEW prices RRP: ( total pricing NOT each user)

Eset Nod32 4 User $170.80
Eset Smart Security 4 User $204.95
Bit Defender @ US$154 ( todays exchange roughly $193)

BIG difference you also have to consider is if there's any problems, what's support like for BitDefender ? If you have Eset you call the NZ distributers ( Chillisoft in Auckland -- 309 3281) and can actually speak to a real person, or several others here are resellers / installers and can also help.:2cents:
