1370716 2014-03-20 00:17:00 They are the only organisation I know of that can "justify" putting prices up in the face of declining business. Every other business on the planet drops prices in order to attract or retain existing customers in the face of growing competition.

They really are a bunch of inept muppets. And yes, I do understand that they have a government obligation to provide a mail delivery service to the people of this country - no matter what.

1370718 2014-03-21 01:41:00 Its only 10c . If they start loosing money its you & me who will be paying to cover all losses.
Put it up to $1 or $2 . Those posting will keep doing so .

Because its govt owned, they cant do what really needs to be done: scale back deliveries to once or twice a week & have mass layoffs.

True that, of course I forgot that Petrol and Cigarettes go up in price regularly as well without any additional benefits to the consumer.

1370720 2014-03-21 09:04:00 They are losing customers, so they raise the price and cut the service? That should have the customers flocking back in droves. R2x1 (4628)
1370721 2014-03-21 09:32:00 I only post one or two letters a year so a price rise makes little difference to me. Email is the way most people communicate these days. Bobh (5192)

Thanks Bob, I wondered about that.
