1370275 2014-03-15 21:35:00 The battery on lap top gave up the ghost, so ordered a new one off trade me.

Question is, the max I can get of newwy is 35 mins, can I auto assume that the new battery is at fault.
I am thinking of possible excuse from Trade Me.
Thanks lads.

1370276 2014-03-16 00:55:00 Sounds like it might be dodgy, check task manager to see what the CPU loading is at just in case something is using a lot of power.

Does the manufacturer state an expected run time in the specs any where?

I know the one in the past lasted longer than half an hour!.
CPU loading is normal.

1370278 2014-03-16 10:37:00 What kind of seller did you get it from? Is it a genuine or a generic one? Agent_24 (57)

Generic I would say.
Outfit that sells batteries on Trade me.
They will no doubt replace, I wondered if there was a possible problem with laptop.

The thing is, it lasts 35minutes so its not really faulty. Its just not that good.

- you'll need to find what the actual batt life should be for your lappy, actual, not manufactures BS times.
- lappy batts do come in various capacities, even genuine can have different options, bigger/smaller capacity
- it may be, old stock, lower capacity, or just a rubbish batt

The notebook repair specialist we sent NB's to, doesnt recommend generics, too many issues with them.
How much did you pay, how does that price compare to genuine.

It's possible - if you were experiencing the same problem with the old battery, but I think it's more likely your new battery is the problem

I am not an expert of course ,but never heard of a battery that lasts only half an hour.

I will send an email and complain.
Cost $53 landed.
