1369977 2014-03-11 07:58:00 Figured out (the other day) why we couldn't get anything on Freeview here. With the outside aerial. I pulled the UHF cable out from inside the house (from the outside).

Some idiot had cut it, when they put the UHF/ satellite cable through the side of this house. But I managed to fix it (there wasnt a lot of coax left), by cutting back the plastic, and putting those plastic block things in

And it's left a bit of a hole / gap in the side in the house. So, just need something to cover it in case it rains. So what should I use?? Silicone or something else?

1369978 2014-03-11 08:34:00 Silicon sealant for outside use windows, gutters etc will do it for you Speedy. Mitre 10 or the like will have it in tubes or cartridges depending how much you reckon you need. CliveM (6007)

1369981 2014-03-11 17:51:00 A little tip Speedy. With silicone when you are using it, at the end of your endeavours you can use a little amount of water to smooth the finished product, use your fingers as if you are clay modelling. You don't need much effort but you will get a superior finish, don't go over board and clean up your hands right away otherwise as the silicone dries you will have a lot of problems getting it off. Maybe a plastic glove or bag might be the right answer. Bryan (147)
