1369746 2014-03-07 22:57:00 Just got a Mail from our power company, Genius, they showed the current rates compared to the new rates -- Had to do it twice to make sure, but ours is LESS on the new rate :) wainuitech (129)
1369747 2014-03-07 23:30:00 Yep had 6 raises in 6 years. Just got a company paid phone, for personal use only. Just aiming for the company car next. Life is what you make of it. Being made redundant 6 years ago was the best thing to happen to me. Made me see what was out there instead of settling for what I had. plod (107)

1369749 2014-03-08 01:56:00 Just be careful with your calculations. ;)

I believe in some cases they have dropped the unit cost but up’d the fixed line charges. :groan:

That way they rip you off whether you use any power or not. An outrageous rort in my book.

1369751 2014-03-08 06:21:00 I would imagine that if Telecom or Vodafone did this sort of price hike that every regulator in the country would be on to it, but power companies in this country get away with it. The ComCom doesn't seem to have the guts to do anything .. paulw (1826)

.

No, the line charges are identical.
That's the only bit that has changed.

1369753 2014-03-09 20:00:00 It's all their fault...PM has no problem with price rises...

How much more John?

Your Shout then. :)

As a matter of interest HERE (www.welectricity.co.nz) is the scale of fees for Wellington which makes for some interesting reading.

For instance, the fixed line charge for Residential single metered has increased from 15 cents per day to 90 cents per day.

Lock your house up, turn off the power, and go on holiday and you'll still be ripped off. :angry

Worse, it seems the increases are Government Driven through the Commerce Commission. :illogical
