1370236 2014-03-16 00:48:00 Well they may have got the intensity and the timing off a bit, but there's no denying the storm did follow the path they said it would and there has been wind and rain over the majority of the north island as predicted.
I'd call that pretty good for weather prediction, which is a very imprecise and difficult science. Mr ring probably would have found a way to blame the moon and suggested fine hot weather.

I thought we'd got off very lightly here in Hamilton (no surprises not coastal or near any ranges) but all Morning I was hearing Chainsaws so I finally went and had a look, seems there was an incident with one of my neighbors trees last night and they've been busy clearing off the road and footpath all morning, still going now at 1:40 pm with an army of guys and chainsaws. It was very wet and windy when I went to bed last night.

earth.nullschool.net it is looking a lot less intense than yesterday, the south island may not get it so bad if they are lucky. Christchurch could use a little luck. Not a forecast by the way just my interpretation of the wind map.

1370237 2014-03-16 01:12:00 If we were getting paid-for forecasts, there would be either a lot of refunds, or a very strong tide of Consumer Guarantee hearing applications.

However, the forecasts are free since they are worked out by a process involving the last four digits of the TAB turnover, the behaviour of Mrs Murphy's cat and the close scrutiny of the offal bin at KFC Chopper Central. These results are analysed using a dartboard and 3 drunk octogenarians, this new result being handed to the drama dep't for transmission to the various media drama departments for suitable spicing up. After that it gets a bit muddled.

The new process involves putting phone books through a garden shredder and assembling forecasts from the resulting confetti by an infinite number of monkeys Anything coming off the production line that is not Shakespeare is considered a forecast. These forecasts are then placed in a drum, thoroughly mixed and a fresh forecast drawn out at exactly 8 o-clock each morning. (A process adopted from the NovoPay system.)
A team of consultants and specialist advisers is studying the process to see where enhanced revenue streams can be extracted.

:lol::lol:

I'll remmeber that next time.

Have you tried ruling lines on them and playing them on the piano?
