But seriously, I'd say Agent_24 hit the nail on the head. Happens to me too.

I get it sometimes if I haven't had enough sleep for a few days

Certainly lowers unwanted flagpoles very quickly.

1370855 2014-03-21 08:50:00 the eye twitch is often from stress. that includes stress on the body from poor health. poor teeth can really set it off. tweak'e (69)
1370856 2014-03-21 08:58:00 It is an exercise regime, a gentle one. R2x1 (4628)
1370857 2014-03-21 10:05:00 Maybe a mild form of epilepsy? why are you asking us, talk to a doctor if it's bothering you :p

Anyway I used to get eye twitches sort of, closing my eyes and putting a slight amount of pressure on the area helped a little but it would always pass in a short while and was only mildly annoying.
I used to find light coming through venetian blinds at night would do it, or driving past a line of trees with the sun coming through them at just the wrong speed (pulsing light on one side of my head only).

But until you asked the question I hadn't thought about it in years so I guess it doesn't really happen to me any more.

1370858 2014-03-21 16:24:00 By now it should have gone.
I have had it a few times over the years, just as you think you are condemned to a life of misery, it disappears.

Any chance of applying your remedy to Parliament? ;)
