1370764 2014-03-20 06:38:00 One of my friends says she was watching movies on one of Megashares sites.

But she has lost the address, and it wants various tool bars and passwords etc.

I have told her that it may be hard to do this without paying a subscription.

But are there any sites you can legally watch movies on line ?

www.flicks.co.nz

the Official Youtube movie channel. Other youtubs movies are probhably pirated: theres alot of pirated stuff on Youtube
www.youtube.com

Perhaps buy them from Itunes?
I somehow doubt movies on mega & similar sites will be legal

Netflix: you would be violating their terms & conditions so not really legal as there will be copywrite issues involved (other local Movie companies/distibutors will have sole rights to some of those movies in NZ)

1370769 2014-03-21 01:38:00 Quickflix, MS Video app under windows 8, Google+ - all have pay per view streaming services available in NZ.

If it's a current movie and you are watching it stream for free odds are pretty good it's not legal.

1370770 2014-03-21 19:41:00 One of the easiest and legal ways is an apple tv and itunes. For all their faults it's a pretty good box and you can buy or rent movies with it.

Else quickflix is legal, but only selected tvs (or an old tv will access it), netflix while great ( I have it) there's some hoops to just through, but as well as a pretty large catalog, it's only pretty much every device.

Amazon instant, needs vpn and can only really get it on a roku (which you can't easily get shipped here).

If you can get yourself onto a vpn then many more legal options are available. Else if sticking to NZ only there's not a ot of tv accessible sites - and by these I mean sites that you can access with a remote - no computer/mouse hooked up to a screen.

Here's how (www.orcon.net.nz)

If you go to Netflix. com, you'll see that you can't create an account because it knows you’re outside of the USA. So what we have to do is to appear to Netflix that we’re in the USA and we can then use their services.

Note: This is not illegal, but Netflix could possibly frown on it. However, they are making money from it, so it isn't so likely.

Can't beat it, in fact I've just upgraded my TV so I can watch Netflix + ITV + + + on it. :D

1370772 2014-03-21 22:23:00 NZ legal options include:
iTunes
Google Play Movies
QuickFlix

You technically can use Netflix, while not illegal it does break their ToS, so buyer beware.

There's a host of other illegal streaming, as well as some other torrent based ones that effectively assemble it from the torrent in a streaming format that have been in the media lately. All of those unfortunately are illegal and against PressF1s rules so if you're after those you're on your own ;-)

Google Play movies? Whenever I have tried to purchase one, I get told "Not in your country" - are you running a VPN to the US to get that service here?
