| 1370730 | 2014-03-19 23:50:00 | Over the weekend I was watching the big glamour companies collapse in the USA ie - Enron et al. Similar to Enron. Looking at the Google share price it's gone from $60 IPO to now of over $1,200. Who else knows more about you than Google? Internet searches, email, calendar, social network, GPS, all the diff apps you have installed, now printing, should we get Internet ready appliances (they might exist already) they might know how much milk you consume and when the fridge door opens in the morning. They have G Drive too. | Nomad (952) | ||

| 1370732 | 2014-03-20 18:19:00 | -==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $16.00. With Enron, you would have $12.50 of the original $1,000.00 invested a year before bankruptcy. With WorldCom, you would have less than $4.00 left. If you invested $1000.00 with Bernie Madoff you would have $0 If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $215.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. -==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- From here (pcforums.co.nz): |

The same thing goes for Amazon and Microsoft. One way of looking at it. Another would be that although quarterly revenue isn't shooting up, Google is showing a commendable ability to diversify and create new products - in other words, that their stock is appearing 'safer' and therefore a better investment, increasing the stock price. |
