349853	2005-04-28 09:53:00	Hey all, Im wanting to get some more RAM for my PC. What i got in there is 2x 256M PC2700 DDR (166MHz) i have one spare slot and looking at my local PC store price list i was looking at a 512M PC3200 DDR400. I was wondering if this will be compatible with my system? Coz i dont know too much bout the technical stuff i wasnt sure if i had to get the same DDR# or the same PC#(2700or3200). Can anyone please help me here? Or is it just easier to get 2x the new 512 ones??? Thanks!!	studrz (7984)
349854	2005-04-28 10:10:00	RAM is always backwards compatible. So yes, you can buy PC3200 modules and they will be fine in your computer. However, they will run at PC2700 speed. Make sure that your motherboard can handle all the RAM you're installing. If you can give me the model number I'll check for you.	Aurealis_ (7897)
349855	2005-04-28 11:01:00	You need to know your chipset, you can use a small freeware called Bios wizard which will tell your chipset. This can be downloaded from www.tech24.com you can then go to the manufacturer’s website for information or from the table below.
