349831	2005-04-28 13:52:00	I too have massive problems with HL2, i have a 3000+ (32 bit) 1gb of ram and a 6800gt and i only get around 40-50 fps even with settings turned down lower than recommended... :badpc: Whaaaaaat? It lags in your system? What about other games? Is there a bottle neck in your system maybe? Low speed RAM? Low speed 10GB HDD from your first PC?	Aurealis_ (7897)
349832	2005-04-28 20:59:00	Well, I have a Athlon XP1600+, G4Ti4200 64mb and 512MB PC2100 DDR and it runs pretty badly. Only about 40 fps with everything on low at 1024x768. Any ideas why? I reckon I should up the CPU to a AthXP 3000+ and a G6600GT for the GFX. First I need about $500. Donations anyone? pmsg me for a bank account :thumbs: 800x600 My old0 Ti was 128mb...	pctek (84)
349833	2005-05-17 11:29:00	Thankyou for the help. I got a 733mhz pentium 3 off trademe and it makes quite a bit of difference. The only thing left is to get a pci video card. A Geforce 4 MX 400 Card sounds good (maybe a little OTT for CS and DOD?) but anything about that sounds good. As the psu is only 230v i hope it can handle something like a geforce 4 mx400...........................	scratta (7982)
349834	2005-07-26 05:50:00	I finally purchased a geforce mx4000 quite cheaply (based on mx420 gpu as far as i could tell, but with crippled memory, i think 32-bit), and it makes a large difference. Now the hl1 games usually go between 30 and 60fps@ 800x600 compared to the 5 to 10 fps@640x480 that used to occur befored i upgraded the video card and cpu.	scratta (7982)
