| 349451 | 2005-04-27 19:03:00 | hii guys . . . i have a p4 2 . 6 . . intel 845gv chipset . . . 256 ddr ram . . . 40 gb hdd win xp running pc with onboard sound card . . . recently i added another 80 gb hdd as slave . . . and removed one 128 ram card . . . and installed one 512 ram card . . . installed components are working fine . . . system is smooth except one thing . . the left speaker has stopped working . . . . i have a onboard realtek ac97 . . . so far i have tried these . . . >>checked the speakers with walkman . . they are fine . . . >>tried head fones . . . onli rt channel is working . . . :annoyed: >>called one guy . . . he tried cleaned dust inside the pc . . . . . n uninstalled the audio devices . . then installed them again . . . no use lft channel still no working . . . . (he suggested cud be a fault in xp . . asked me to install win98 on the slave disk . . . n let him know . . ) >>dnloaded latest drivers frm hp-website . . (i have compaq pc) . . left channel still dead . . . . . i will try to install win 98 on slave n check speakers . . . but i feel something is wrong with the Mother board . . . cud it be . . . !!?? please help!!!! :help: |

| 349454 | 2005-04-28 16:26:00 | guys thanks for replying... yes it does have front audio ports.. one firewire n 2 usb.. model is S6070IL compaq presario.... i guess... i'll have to buy a new sound card if nothing works out.... i have 2 pci slots free.. |

| 349455 | 2005-04-29 09:22:00 | Well I'd give these Realtek drivers (www.realtek.com.tw) a crack or try knoppix to see if it is okay. Failing that throw a new sound card in. Is it a coincidence that HP have instructions here (h10025.www1.hp.com) :rolleyes: |

| 349458 | 2005-05-17 03:51:00 | Sledge I have all these same problems...What did you do? I have a feeling it has something to do with maybe the front panel, I never used it than one plugged into it and lost left channel. I have done everything you have done...what now!!!! Help Dupsta |
