| 350859 | 2005-04-30 21:20:00 | My system, Win 2000 Pro is set to auto update from Microsoft. It looks like an auto download stopped OE from displaying mail that contained *.txt, *.exe and now anything *.jpg files. I can understand the .txt and .exe, but jpg seems to be going over the top. Is there a way to stop OE deleting jpg files ? as I want them! |

| 350860 | 2005-04-30 21:31:00 | Go to Tools|Options and select the security tab. Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be opened or saved that could potentially contain a virus". I think it is all or nothing - you can't say "allow these but not those". FWIW I think it is possible to infect .jpg files. HTH |

Anything it's "removes access" to will still be accessible once you've made the change suggested by Tony. FWIW I think it is possible to infect .jpg files.Correct. It sure is. You can get around it by asking the person who sent them to zip them first. Or use a different email program like Mozilla or Thunderbird. As much as I love the propagation of MS alternatives, a simple menu fix sure beats changing mail programs or trying to educate those sending to you. |
