350589 2005-04-30 02:01:00 Hi
Seems like 50% of the time, I have no sound, warnings etc. after start up.
Re-start seems to fix it.

WinXP SP2 Home, Office pro 2k, in Warehouse Dell.
Ad-Aware SE, SpyBot S&D, Registry Mechanic, Norton works and ccleaner, all up to date and run.

Anything simple I can look at? (Not a Tweeker me)

Thanks for any help
Don

Should have said, I shut down every night.

350590 2005-04-30 03:42:00 I would find the soundcard drivers and reinstall them.

I wouldnt use registry mechanic too much. Some programs like that can delete drivers windows needs.

350591 2005-04-30 05:30:00 Thanks Speedy,
You might well be right about Rec.Mech.
Too old for all this, I need to take notes, I think I Downloaded it to fix the problem, maybe not. I'll see what I can do about the driver.
If the driver is crook though, why does it come right next time?

350592 2005-04-30 08:45:00 Check device manager Don . See if anything has an X or similar beside it .

It sounds like some kind of conflict, if it goes on and off . . .

Or try playing around with the sound and audio device settings . Something may have to be ticked for it to work properly
