| 350969 | 2005-05-01 05:35:00 | I'm working on a bit of a project which involves being able to play a lot of video content inside a Shockwave Flash application (being constructed using Flash MX Pro). The problem is that the video files which need to be played are in WMV format, and are heavily compressed as they are, while retaining an acceptable amount of quality. I have two options. If I import and "embed" the video files, I end up turning a 1.2mb .wmv and another 30 seconds of video into a 76mb shockwave file. As the content is to be distributed onto a CD, there simply isn't the space to increase video file sizes by 6000% The other is to convert the files into .mov files, however doing so also increases the file size dramatically. Is there a way to link a wmv file into Flash, so it refers to an external wmv file, rather than embeding it into the flash document? |
