| 351700 | 2005-05-03 06:25:00 | Hi, I am looking at the broadband promo with Telecom at the moment which comes with a free ADSL modem (D-Link 302G). I am looking for a simple, low cost way to wirelessly (wireless G) share this connection and wirelessly share a printer also. I am not really sure what I need to do this and whether I can add a 'box' that will meet both these requirements. Can anyone help with what I would need and if people have product suggestions that would be helpful also. Thanks |

Try looking on trademe: www.trademe.co.nz remember you're going to need a card for each computer. last year i did the same thing and managed to get 2 wireless cards for 60bux. Are you using XP? If so make sure u have SP2 installed, wireless network support comes with sp2. I'm not sure about 2000 or previous, however im sure there are 3rd party tools to do that. If you manage to get two Wireless cards and have XP SP2, then its easy to share an internet connection, a printer and your files. |

I dont want to have to leave a laptop turned on or physically connected to the modem. I think I need a wireless ADSL router and a print server? No idea whether these come as a all-in-one solution or not. |
