| 351244 | 2005-05-02 00:40:00 | Got a message saying my Zone Alarm Pro needs renewing. Tried to follow the renewal process but got thoroughly confused. E-Mailed them several times without any real help in understanding the process and advising me to ring them in the U.S.A. which would cost me in toll call. Completely brassed off with this treatment. Question: Can I delete all of Zone Alarm from my system ( WinXP) without doing any harm and rely on Microsofts firewall instead. Help appreciated. |

| 351246 | 2005-05-02 03:17:00 | Zone Alarm does not need renewing. What it will be nagging you about is the anti-virus part of it. You can turn it off in the preferences. No need to remove it completely - just run a separate anti-virus. |

More complications to bumfumble an eighty year old struggler to keep up with the play. |

Agree with Safari, an alternative is to go on line, open ZoneAlarm Pro | Overview | Product Info | Support and Update Info | cl Renew. Just take it carefully step by step. Have a credit card available, keep a copy of your new License details. Support and Update Info will tell you how many more days of update service you have. You usually get a renewal message 30 days before it runs out. |

The renewal site looks quite easy, Heaton are you going to this link. www.zonelabs.com When I get to the step where it says," click change Lic.button," up comes a panel with my current Zone Alarm pro Licence key. Then instruction 4 says copy and paste this licence key into the field below. Ok I go to the Edit menu to copy and paste only to find that the entire menu is greyed out , so how the heck can I copy and paste ? I press F1 for help only to find a whole lot of stuff about all the products and no answer to my problem. |

It will still work but what is the point in having a pro version if you can't update it to get all the latest security information to enable all the extra features to to be able to function correctly. |
