352307 2005-05-05 08:47:00 I am running Windows98SE on my laptop, Pentiumlll 650MHz, 320 Mb Memory, 20 Gb hard drive. I'm advised that 650MHz is on the low side but I can't do anything about that (or can I?).
Will I have probs. running an external DVD burner? I'm not all that concerned about speed.
Any experience, comments etc. will be appreciated.
Regards

352308 2005-05-05 08:53:00 650mhz with 320mb ram is a rocket ship for Win98.

External burner should be fine, presuming you have USB.

How does USB 1.0 or 1.1 affect the burn process? I thought I read somewhere you have a greater chance of coasters with the slower USB speed?

Forgot to mention that although I've only got USB1.1 installed, I'm going to buy a 2.0 card.

352313 2005-05-05 10:20:00 if at all possible go for an internal. externals cost more and can be problematic. tweak'e (69)
