2005-05-05 00:41:00 | Flash problems in iexplore, v6 (ie) v7 flash. Umm ie refuses to display any pages with flash now, i have uninstalled flash and reinstalled as well as resetting content settings to default in ie. The only reason i can think for the flash not working is installment of symantec antivirus v9 corporate edition. As far as i know this doesnt have a firewall built in so why should it be affecting IE, please help me.

2005-05-05 00:44:00 | You know you could always use Firefox :D | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |
2005-05-05 00:47:00 | I dont need firefox, its my stepmoms pc and i was doing a favour by installing stupid norton and updating it and now she is ready to rip my arm off and beat me with it, help i need this fixed | jsheed_sa (8041) | |
2005-05-05 00:59:00 | I would get rid of Norton and go with something free like like AVG (most people here would agree) Also you could try disk cleanup and get rid of temporary downloaded files and try again | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |
2005-05-05 01:05:00 | Yeah but besides the point, you know of any issues where flash has been inhibited by norton? This version v9 corporate edition doesnt even stock a damn firewall as far as I know so how can it be stopping flash from functioning in IE if it is even the damn norton. Also i unenstalled totally with the macromedia uninstaller and reinstalled with the new flash, still not working, what the hell, i even went so far as to reset the default settings in IE as a hope of resetting the active x settings to work ARGGGG what can i do, there is not even any guarantee firefox would work and i doubt my stepmom would like to change even though i know its better

2005-05-05 01:10:00 | Try downloading this (www.macromedia.com) one and install it from there as I suspect you have a different version or Flash (the program to make animations) Try that | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |
2005-05-05 01:16:00 | no help, as thats where i got the uninstaller from and the new version of flash version 7. It doesnt work, blah thanks for trying though but that was the first route i went | jsheed_sa (8041) | |
2005-05-05 01:27:00 | What OS are you running ? Was it working fine before norton ? | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |
2005-05-05 01:39:00 | Win XP, yeah was fine before norton and as far as i know nothing else was installed. However this norton has no firewall protection so how the hell would it intergrate itself with IE and block flashplayer from functioning? | jsheed_sa (8041) | |
2005-05-05 01:42:00 | Just try removing it and see if the problem goes away (for testing purposes) | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |
