| 352114 | 2005-05-04 17:14:00 | Hi All, I have an EZQUEST external hard drive (120gb). I've had it for about two years, and have been using it constantly over that period. It was mostly kept in a locker when not in use. I have dropped it about two times - or at least only one time that was signficant. However, I don't think that is the root of the problem. It is basically noisy. I replaced the fan a while ago, but that didn't help becuase that was not he problem. I find that it is noisy when I start it up (when it is COLD, i suppose) then it settles down after a minute or so. It is still fairly loud. Is this just an age thing? It still works perfectly fine, I might add. - Chris On a slightly different note: amongst my peers using several different brands, the ezquest brand seemed to be the best -- alot of people's hard drive cases and drives burnt out, but people with ezquest drives never had a single problem. <-- cut and paste that for a consumer review, huh? I despise myself a little. Still, no lies. |

When the time comes; you should just be able to buy a harddrive (I would go with Seagate - 5 year warranties) and replace the old with the new. In the meantime, make sure you keep backing up your data :) |
