| 351735 | 2005-05-03 09:31:00 | anyone know why i am being redirected to google.com.au when i type www.google.com? i am using opera, and this has only started today. i dont recall ever being redirected even to google.co.nz when using opera, (although it happpens in IE). any ideas? | Kindel (6640) | ||

| 351738 | 2005-05-03 12:33:00 | It's a DNS thing - they point you to whatever domain is on the register. I don't know why they chop and change, but I suspect it may have something to do with availability and load etc at the Google end. | vinref (6194) | ||
| 351739 | 2005-05-03 13:54:00 | Its not spyware, OS, Browser dependant. Ive run it in Linux, Doze, Firefox, IE, Opera, Konqueror... Sometimes it goes directly to Googel.com, sometimes its .com.au, sometimes it rejects me altogether giving me Page Not Found. However using that same browser/OS, and a PROXY...... then things start to work. This leaves either DNS issues, or my IP Address is being resolved as a valid, aus, nz or US IP at the Google end. My theory at least.... |
