2005-05-06 10:11:00 | Hmm well u could get the latest drivers. BUT u need BIOS 212,220,230,231,233, or 239. And the previous post by the looks of it u have 232. So, you may have to download the BIOS update , read the info before u use it. The only other thing u can do (which might be better), is go to the intel site and contact them by email, and find out where the drivers are for ME. As updating the BIOS may kill the card altogether. If its the wrong one.

2005-05-06 10:17:00 | Hmmm .. well .. we had a 40gig comp and bought a 10gig comp off trademe .. we bought it cos it had a dvd writer in it. **HE** decided to take the dvd drive and put it on the bigger comp .. thinking we would be able to find the software to run it. The comp recognises the CD part of the drive .. but not the dvd. I have looked and havent been able to find anything for it. It was while looking that I came across this aussie mag with the nvidia driver thing on it .. being a born again blond I loaded and ran them ... the comp requested closing down to allow the settings and it did. When it reloaded it is definately missing colours. Complete computer info .... | 352267 | 2005-05-06 10:23:00 | Ah, if all u want to do is watch a DVD, its not only the videocard drivers u need . You also need something like Powerdvd, or a program that can play DVD's . It looks like the DVD has been configured properly, coz its in the previous post u just posted .

2005-05-06 10:28:00 | Shuld we have a vote now ... Jen .. what do you think is that link Ive put up the one .. am I downloading a whole heap of drivers ??I would of liked to see more specific information about your Graphic details, but as Speedy pointed out it looks indeed like a intel i740 graphic device. Try installing that driver you found at softpedia. Make sure you set a system restore point first though. After installing it, you will need to reboot and then change the default display settings to your previous settings. Goodluck! :)

2005-05-06 10:31:00 | OK .. I get the gist of that re the bios .. how would I know what the dvd is jumpered to? We wanted the drive cos its a dvd burner .. not wanting to watch on the PC .. I wanna burn dvds. The other comp has a prog called b's clip .. Ive looked at their website .. and cant find a download of the drivers I can find updates though. The DVD problem was I think an altogether different problem .. I do think that the loading of that damned nvidia thing did the damage .. and I spose when I removed it .. it took some original bits and pieces with it.

2005-05-06 10:41:00 | On the back of that dvd burner (is it in the case now)?? there's usually a jumper (a black or blue thing) . Near the power supply . (usually 8-9 pins) . NOT the pins, where u connect the IDE connection to the motherboard . This is usually on the Master or Slave pins (They maybe labelled SL or MA) . Or an easier way is to reboot watch the post screen (this is the screen after u reboot, and it shows the devices in the system (the hard drives, cds etc) . . . To slow this down . . . press Pause on the keyboard . . . See WHAT the dvd burner is on . . Secondary Master or Slave . It's NOT a good idea to put a burner on the Master IDE connection (the same IDE connection as a hard drive) . Or just go into the BIOS (after u reboot - did anyone go into the BIOS)? Look for the Secondary IDE device option . . See if the name of the burner appears here . If it shows as being on Secondary Master or Slave, then its fine . And if it shows in My computer / windows explorer . Its fine (Well it must be going since this is the only CD/dvd in the system) . If u want something for burning try Nero, (which isn't free) or hopefully u have something there that can burn whatever to the DVD burner .
