352254	2005-05-06 08:26:00	Thanks Jen .. this sounds a bit more positve and less doom and gloom. Now I need to ask a silly question .. is the graphics card the watsit that runs the display? I cant find anything in the DirectX Diagn except under the display tab .. where it says *the system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.* So I am going to the site u suggested .. and having the system checked that way. Meantime .. The graphics or video card, or the graphic chip that is built into your motherboard sends signals to the monitor for it to display as an image. So yes, it does run the display. Not all computers have a separate graphic card, which is a removable piece of hardware that fits into a slot on the motherboard instead of being built into it (onboard or intergrated). So I am going to the site u suggested .. and having the system checked that way.That program should help. Just run it and then post back with what information it gives about your graphics/video. 352259	2005-05-06 09:52:00	Well thats a good question! Not sure if u could get the 98 or 98 se ones. They may or MAY NOT work! The 98/98 SE updates are for updating the BIOS for that videocard, and the drivers. Not a good idea getting the BIOS update if its for the wrong OS. It might kill the card completely. 352262	2005-05-06 10:06:00	What you have posted that was listed by Everest doesn't look right. It should display sensible information and not partial gobbly-gook like that. What is the model of your computer and what is the motherboard (info should be listed under the Motherboard or System summary tab). What was the initial problem that you were having with the DVD?
