352108 2005-05-06 02:09:00 Just remember the SSID, you can rename it to something that will make it easy like "thisone" or "thatone" :D Rob99 (151)
352109 2005-05-06 04:13:00 Thanks Robi wan kanobi,
I know the name of my SSID the problem as I see it would be, if I make it non broadcasting, how will I see it to be able to access it should a fault develop in the future? Or am I missing somnething really simple? like it is only other people who can't see it?

352110 2005-05-06 04:19:00 You can just log back into your accesspoint and switch it back on, or if that cant be achieved you would have to run an ethernet cable to the accesspoint to reconfigerr.

May the force be with you

352111 2005-05-06 05:58:00 Or, if you lost your SSID, there's always such a thing called a "rest button"...

I tried setting up a windows ME computer for wireless... Took ma ages... Gave up in the end, the network works perfectly after wep and any other form of security has been turned off...

I guess you mean a "Reset Button", an entirely different animal :D

352113 2005-05-06 06:36:00 The easy way to "remember" things like IP addresses and SSID codes is with a permanent adhesive label, or a (permanent) felt pen so the information is always with the equipment. If someone can read that, they can use the alternative means of breaking the "security",

The proper way is to maintain a log book. The trick is not to put the logbook in a "safe place". :(
