352867 2005-05-07 03:39:00 Um, there's quite a few LCDs on their site, you might have to give some more details... make price etc. Shortcircuit (1666)
352868 2005-05-07 03:59:00 Advantage computers in Palmerston North?

They are a well established company held in good steed, I do believe they are very well utilised by the corperate sector and have opened a branch at the Uni in Palmy.

You can be garenteed that the prices are genuine.

That aside the prices on the LCD's are in the expected range, is their any that look too cheap?

352869 2005-05-07 22:16:00 Hi, These are advertised in the local North shore paper.

19 inch LCD TFT $429.00 + GST

17 inch LCD TFT $ 299.00 + GST

No manufacturer mentioned, unless "TFT" means something.

352870 2005-05-08 01:34:00 Specs Specs Specs . Contrast, Refresh Rate, ColorDepth .

Don't compare LCDs on price . Compare on features then search for a good price for the features you want .

352871 2005-05-08 02:33:00 If you look on Pricespy, the prices check out. (in fact some places sell them for less)

Probably ChiMei or AOC models.

For the average user, probably are okay.

Talk about cheap, Trev ! :stare: :o

TFT is not a brand name:

TFT - Thin film transistor
A type of LCD that is sometimes called an active matrix. TFT is actually a component of a an LCD to improve the quality and control of the LCD display. It is basically a tiny transistor linked to each individual pixel on the screen.
