353367 2005-05-08 23:12:00 Ok at the moment I need of these "all in one" badboys....
There are sooooo many types out there that I am baffled at which one to even look at....
I just want a decent one I guess and am cluless as to why the prices vary so much.
I plan on printing a lot so I guess I need a printer thats cost economical. I am not sure what features I should be looking at when it comes to these things. At the moment I just need these things for the basic tasks. This is going to be my first purchase of these products. So I would appreciate it if you can let me know of a decent brand/model and I will try to find the lowest price on these.

Thank you for all of your help.,

353368 2005-05-08 23:25:00 Will most of your printing be B&W or will it include colour?

Ink costs will be very high if colour is involved, but I heard that Canon have a laser colour 3 in 1 on the market in the US now (at under $US1000 I think) so it won't be long before it hits these shores, if it isn't here already. Laser gives the lowest price per page for both colour and B&W.

Cheers

353369 2005-05-09 01:11:00 There's a Brother model being advertised on TV recently for just two hundred - I'd really recommend it. Sorry I don't know the model number, but DSE will almost certainly have it. Greg (193)
353370 2005-05-09 01:48:00 Brother 210C or 410C (networkable). I have the 210c, 20 pages at draft mode. 4 ink tanks, u can vary the ink used - so this can save a lot. Copier/fax/printer/scanner/card reader - can print photos quite well, altho a little slow & it does the dishes for me as well. quarry (252)

Following on from Billy's question, how much is "a lot"? A laser printer will be more economical and less troublesome in the long run (provided you buy anything but a Brother and provided you print enough pages). Do you really need the scanner and copier? Or are these features 'nice to have'?

353374 2005-05-30 22:46:00 sure, to make default settings, go to start, printers & fax (or control panel, printers & fax) - right click your printer, click properties, then printing preferences - choose fast normal etc & click ok. if you just want to print fast, then from your document, click file, print, select printer, preferences & fast.... quarry (252)

353376 2005-05-31 01:38:00 I have been very satisfied with the Canon MP700, seems to be a good all rounder. Terry Porritt (14)
