353267 2005-05-08 06:00:00 WAS completely smashed oblitorated....now no more by the SOBIG virus.....and so was my daughter in a different part of the NORTH ISLand.
It was regularly up dated as of last week...this must be able to happen to you or is the lesson update old programs but 2003 is not old!
I run ZONE ALARM free version and that has updated just recently...I also have COUNTERSPY but I had no warning....just woke one morning and it wasn't there.....I still have the icon on the desk top and would like to know how to DELETE? SHIFT DELETE does not work and Right CLICK does nothing....HELP....

353268 2005-05-08 06:12:00 2003 should be ok, it still gets updated.

I use Internet Security 2003 with the AV, it works fine.

Was it configured to check incoming emails?? If you got Sobig in an email??

Did u get Sobig in an email?? Maybe someone opened an email attachment, if it came in an attachment?

2003 is WAY better than 2004 or 2005! So, I've read.

Funny how you and your daughter got it. Did it hit both of you, on the same day ??

Does the entry for the AV appear in Add/remove programs? Is Sobig still on the system, , or did someone remove it?

353269 2005-05-08 06:15:00 The odds against two family members in different locations being blitzed at the same time.... well. Question, who gave it to who. No that it helps resolve the problem, but worth considering before any further communication if one clears it up. ;) Scouse (83)
353270 2005-05-08 06:50:00 I also have COUNTERSPY but I had no warning Counterspy is just an antispyware app, not an anti virus.
As for Nortons <shuts mouth>. Kinda surprised AVG didn't do anything though

really? NAV 2003 was a heap of junk on my pc, it slowed it down to a crawl, once i got rid of that and installed AVG, my pc was back to the way it should have been
