| 353161 | 2005-05-08 00:15:00 | I've got 2 computers connected through a router. I want to know why the shared folders on the XP home box, brand new installation won't let me copy files from the other box. I've been to properties & unticked read only, but as soon as I click apply & close it, then open it again, it's gone back to read only. Any ideas ? I had this working all ok on a buggered installation yesterday, hence the brand new one. |

| 353165 | 2005-05-08 01:10:00 | I can transfer a file into the folder if I open the properties box, clear read only, click apply & then leave the properties box open. Yes it is firewalled in both directions. As soon as I close the properties box the folder goes back to read only. | Phil B (648) | ||

I found that after getting rid of all the temp files ect it was fragmented by 30%. I defragged it twice & got it down to zero. All ok. Do the basics before bleating, thats my lesson. Phil |
