| 353102 | 2005-05-07 13:48:00 | I am planning on building a 64 bit system based on AMD processor(not interested in debating AMD vs Intel)just wanted to know what differences are between these pin configurations(aside from L2 cache size)and which MoBo is a good option(or has less issues than others)I have been looking at 3200+ processor as this seems to be the "sweet spot" between price and performance.Any polite!! suggestions??. | B B (6979) | ||

| 353106 | 2005-05-07 23:31:00 | The difference is that Nforce4 (939 pin) suports dual channel, and is foward compatible with the dual-core CPU'a which are too make their way to market sometime,,,, NForce3 (754 pin) 3 was/is a good board but more of a stopgap measure while AMD and partners worked on the 939 design. The semporon range will be using the design exlusivly in the future. As to a board without issues? Nforce 3 and 4 are stable and fast right across the range, If you want stable while overclocked?...well thats more luck then anything else, though some OC sites have nominated favourites. |

| 353109 | 2005-05-08 11:38:00 | A standard nForce 4 ultra is plenty if you aren't going with SLI, and who in their right mind would go SLI anyway. | vapo (5203) | ||
