353391 2005-05-09 00:09:00 I use a ADSL Ethernet Router (DSL-504G) to connect to the internet... It is connected to my destop pc via a network card and cable that I Installed myself....

I am also wanting to connect my laptop in another room to the router...

I am looking at long network cables on trademe and have found that most of them are either Standard or Crossover cables...

So I am just tring to figure which I will need to connect my laptop to the router...

The laptop is an Acer from DSE and as far as I know has a standard network port built in....

Thanks for your help...

353394 2005-05-09 01:17:00 Thanks guys....

I was going to either purchase a 25m or 30m cable...

Does the length of the cable cause any problems or issues similar to when using long cables to connect to dialup modem to wall socket?
