| 353716 | 2005-05-09 18:41:00 | I have IE 6 on my computer, running Win XP with Norton AV Corp Ed . Quite recently, no less than 40 IE windows will suddenly open out of nowhere . I don't even use IE, just Firefox and Netscape . I'm typically using my laptop as normal when this phenomenon occurs; it started about two weeks ago and happens at least once daily . I can't think of anything I've done differently . Nothing appears to set it off; one minute I'm surfing, working in Word, or composing an email -- and the next, IE pops up and floods the screen with window after window . It'll open approx . forty and stop, but when I close one, another opens . It doesn't end until I shut down and restart . I've run virus checks and found nothing, but I'm not convinced . I found instructions online for uninstalling IE from XP but it requires logging on as an administrator, and this is an old company laptop from years ago; they're no longer around . This has never happened before . Ever . Is it malicious code unknowingly installed on my machine? Is it a bug in IE? What's going on? Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas/ tips/ comments/ suggestions are appreciated with thanks . 10:20 5/9/2005 |

| 353717 | 2005-05-09 19:00:00 | Welcome to PressF1 :) Have you try scanning your computer using Ad-Aware or Spybot S & D? It seems that your computer has infected itself with adwares or spywares . Cheers :) |
