355174 2005-05-14 14:48:00 Hi, I have been trying to put a friends music cds onto her computer using Nero Express but get an error message saying "sorry the input device does not support digital audio extraction"

Is this a problem with nero or the cd drive? It is an older computer running win98
Thanks

P.s same setup works fine on my newer computer

Not all cd/dvds support digital audio .

What are you trying to do?? Rip the cd i take it??

If you're trying to rip it, how are you trying to do it??

And what version of Nero is installed??

Another version came out yesterday (6 . 6 . 0 . 13) .

355176 2005-05-14 23:03:00 i prefer CDEX (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/) myself.

older cd roms may not support digital extraction or you may need ASPI drivers installed.

Ditto.. I reckon it's one of the best free-apps around.

A must have even.

She just wants to put the music onto the hard drive and play it, not copy it or anything. Theres no cd writer and no internet connection.
