| 355247 | 2005-05-15 03:45:00 | i have a problem i just installed windows xp on a fresh install and im trying to set up the internet connection, when i try to add the connection for the internet i go through the internet connection wizard(modem is installed and working properly) i click on "set up manually" then next then on the next screen "connect using dial up modem" is faded out i cant select this option???? can anyone help here? the only one working is brodband at the bottom what can i do here? :badpc: | lisamarie01 (6731) | ||

| 355249 | 2005-05-15 05:05:00 | Open Regedit (Start --> Run --> regedit --> ok) Navigate to HKey_Local_Machine --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> Services --> Rasman --> PPP --> EAP Left click on EAP there should be 4 keys > 13,4,25,and 26 Delete the keys 25 and 26 Reboot the PC Try to setup a new connection - the problem should now be fixed If those 4 keys are not visible, check the modem is properly configured and dialling rules are set up correctly in control panel. |

Cheers :) Control Panel> Phone and modems>click on the modem then click on Properties; then Diagnostics tab and click on query modem. If modem is fine you will get success message |
