| 355743 | 2005-05-16 20:45:00 | I have a motherboard that has a built in video card so I cannot remove it. Now I am planning to buy a new video card probably geforce fx5500. I am going to attach the video card myself but the problem is how will i disable the sis??? I would appreciapte your help if someone helps me!!!!!!!!!! |

| 355744 | 2005-05-16 21:11:00 | Go into the BIOS (by pressing either F1, delete key, F10, or other key) as soon as the system boots up. Hopefully, it has an option in there, to disable the onboard video. |

| 355746 | 2005-05-16 21:27:00 | If it's a newish board you probably don't have to disable anything in the BIOS Plug the new card in attach the monitor to the new card & boot The BIOS will automatically disable the onboard video & recognise the new one Still check the BIOS for the option though |

If it's not auto disabled, go: right-click on My Computer / Properties / Hardware / Device Manager / maximise Display Adapters / right-click the on-board card / Properties / under the General tab/Device usage, select Do Not Use This Device (disable). |
