Also, what is the differance between AGP 8X/4X and AGP 4X/2X expansion slots? Do I have to worry about this for my existing video card?

Thanks

355545 2005-05-16 05:23:00 Looks good what are you mainly going to be using it for?
the diference is the bus type APG 8 is faster and is what newer graphics cards use so if you want to upgrade your vidio card you will need this
APG 4 is older and slower your old graphics card should work in this what type is it

(should I go for 1 - 1GB or 2 - 512 MB)You should go for 2x 512 MB of identical RAM sticks to take advantage of your mobo's dual-channal RAM slots.

What is your existing video card? As mentioned, the 8x AGP slot on the mobo is backwards compatible with a 4x AGP video card. If you are a gamer, then for the system you are getting you would really want a quality 8x AGP card.

355547 2005-05-16 14:48:00 This will be mostly just an office machine for internet access and spreadsheets. Some gaming. This is probably more power than I need now but I want something that will last a few months before being outdated.

I just looked at my video through Everest and made note that I currently have AGP 2X. Will this work in a AGP 8X/4X?

Also, do these CPU's come with heat sync and fan coolers or do I have to order one?

1) No. Upgrade the graphics card too.

2) If it says Retail CPU, yes it does have heatsink and fan. Not many are OEM (Cpu on its own).
